Never forget to plan ahead (kinda sorta maybe)

from Everything Below 29.99
So I was on Twitter and saw a tweet from @  and was shocked because she said she was planning out the rest of her month.  Now, I'm not necessarily a fly by the seat of my pants type of girl (well, sorta kinda but not really) however, I was in awe that someone with a crazy schedule like hers can actually plan more than a week or two away.  No I'm not talking about conferences, meetings and vacations but actual work to be done. I'm in the process of embarking on a new endeavor (more on that to come) and I realized that while I have been planning the endeavor and giving myself (and accomplishing) deadlines, I haven't been doing the same with other areas of my life.

So I ask myself, what can I plan ahead for? Without becoming OCD there are many things that I can add to my calendar in advance and plan them out so they run more smoothly. I've read all the time management stuff and went to all of the professional development hoodias (total made up word for thingies or a noun you can't remember -feel free to use it, just attribute it to me LOL). I've also rolled my eyes at my mom and teachers growing up when they said I needed to be more organized (Mommy, I can say that now because I'm an adult and you can't punish me HA!...yes I rolled my eyes...and yes I still call my mom "Mommy").  I know that I can/should keep a tighter grip on my schedule but I also believe in spontaneity and wiggle room. The trick will be to determine what things I can add to the list of "to be planned in advance" without losing my carefree twang.

I'm waiting on @  to tell me her secrets of organization. I will let you know what I find out. It's amazing what you can learn from other people in 140 characters.  Go Twitter!
